Forsberg, Studebaker, & Biscardi Plant it in Victory Lane on General Hydroponics Night
A threat of rain wouldn’t stop race fans and teams from attending the 7th round of the Pit Stop USA points paying race. The Pit Stop USA Sprint Cars had 21 cars enter in the pits and would have DJ Freitas set quick with a time of 12.989. A 3 heat race format saw Shane Myre, Bradely Terrell, and David Lindt pick up heat race victories. Terrell and Myre would start on the front row and lead the field to green. More would set the pace but soon would loose the lead as he would spin in turns 1 and 2. Terrell would take over command with Andy Forsberg in tow. As Terrell reached traffic, Forsberg would use a lapper as a pick and make the winning pass and would go onto win his first of the year at Petaluma with Terrell, Mike Benson, Billy Butler, and Riley Matson round out the top 5.
The Genral Hydroponic Dwarf Cars were co sanctioned with the South Bay Dwarfs and fielded 27 cars with only 22 cars starting in the A Main. Punky Pires, Matt Hagermann, Dave Mosier, and Justin Yanez picked up the heat race victories. Mark Biscardi would lead the field to green and pull away from the field. A couple of cautions would bunch the field back up but Biscardi would hold off a charging David Teves, who won the B Main and finished 2nd, to win the main event. Yanez, Mosier, and Pires were the top 5.
The Lumberjack Restaurant Super Stocks made their return to the 3/8th’s with a competitive 12 car field. Petaluma Regulars Matt While and Steve Studebaker would pick up heat race victories and While would lead the field to the green. Mitch Machado would make a charge for the lead but would run into trouble during the main. Studebaker would make a late race pass on While to go and win the main event. While in 2nd, Garrett Brady in 3rd, woody Woodward in 4th, and Ryan Cherezian in 5th.
Jakes Performance Hobbie Mini Stocks made yet another visit to Petaluma which saw the always fast Darien Balestrini take the heat race victory. During the main, Balestrini, the point leader, would run into trouble which opened up the field to gain points. In the closing laps, William Fatu at the age of 14 years old picked up an exciting A Main victory with a close Austin Ohlinger in 2nd, Snazzy Duckworth in 3rd, Studebaker in 4th, and Squirrely Curley in 5th.
