Foesberg, Simpson, Matthias Light Up Sky on July 3rd

A warm and cool breeze evening brought fans out to Petaluma Speedway for Buffalo Wild Wings Night on Sunday Night, July 3rd. 25 Winged 360’s signed into the pits with Ryan Bernal making his 1st winged 360 appearance of the year and taking fast time with a 12.485. A 4 heat race format with Tyler Walker, Colby Wiesz, Chase Johnson, and Bradley Terrell picking up victories. Tyler Walker and Andy Forsberg would lead the field to green with Walker taking the early advantage. An early yellow would set up a restart and allow Forsberg to get around Walker for the lead. Forsberg would end up pulling away and picking up Pit Stop USA Shootout Round #3 with Walker in 2nd and Terrell in 3rd.
The Pit Stop USA Spec Sprints returned to the 3/8th’s after 2 weeks off. 13 cars signed into the pits with Klint Simpson and Geoff Ensign picking up the 2 heat races. Korey Combs and Ensign led the field to green with Ensign taking advantage. Ensign, Simpson, and Terry Shank would battle and switch positions. A wreck on lap 23 involving leader Ensign would set up a 2 lap shootout where Simpson would go on to win 3 in a row at Petaluma with Colton Slack in 2nd and Shank in 3rd.
The General Hydroponic Dwarf Car’s had a nice 22 car field which saw Robert Coe, Matt Hagemann, and Jack Haverty picking up the heat races. Haverty and Dave Mosier would lead the field to green. Haverty would lead until Mosier would make a pass for the lead until both of them would end up in a crash on lap 12. Chad Matthais would take over the lead and hold off Miranda Chappa and Zack Albers to win his 1st Dwarf car win, Albers in 2nd and Chappa in 3rd.
The Santa Rosa Auto Body 600’s saw a 18 car field battle for the win Saturday at Petaluma. Jared Morrison, David Engstrom, and Tony Soper winning their heat races. Jim Beck would lead the field to green with Koen Shaw making a 3 wide move into 2nd. A red flag and an early yellow wouldn't stop Beck from picking up the victory at Petaluma with Morrison in 2nd and Rick Alonso in 3rd.
